For Bridge Construction Report, follow the Carpenter task to Braelyn Bridge and search beneath its central pillar. Bring a pickaxe: the chest is buried in rubble, so looking across the bridge deck will not reveal the final objective.[1]
If the task has not appeared
August’s 1.0 guide says to read the lore note “Spectacular Progress Is Being Made,” then speak to the Carpenter. Check whether the task is actually in your journal before treating a missing objective marker as a digging problem.[1]
In a shared world, compare your own journal with the group’s rather than assuming that another player’s completed objective proves you have the same active step. An older player thread reports this exact mismatch; it establishes a question to check, not a confirmed universal co-op bug.
[2]Use the bridge structure as your reference
- Go to Braelyn Bridge. Identify the middle pillar from the deck: the written route uses a horizontal wooden beam as the landmark.[1]
- Descend to the base of that pillar. Recheck your position before digging; rubble beneath a neighboring support can look equally plausible.
- Mine the dirt-like rubble toward the area underneath the pillar. The target is the buried chest, not a requirement to dismantle the bridge.
- Open the chest and check the objective state before leaving. If it has not advanced, compare the active journal task with the container you opened.
The route combines the task’s starting condition and the chest approach into one checklist. It does not claim a new hidden shortcut or a precise meter measurement.[1]
